Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA)

Member of the TEQSA Register of Experts

The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) regulates and assures the quality of Australia’s higher education sector. TEQSA registers and assesses the performance of higher education providers against the Higher Education Standards Framework. The Standards Framework comprises five domains: Provider Standards, Qualification Standards, Teaching and Learning Standards, Information Standards and Research Standards. The Provider Standards and Qualifications Standards are collectively the Threshold Standards, which all providers must meet in order to enter and remain within Australia’s higher education system.

TEQSA uses external experts to source advice on specific, identified elements of the Agency’s regulatory assessments and reviews. Experts provide advice that contributes to TEQSA’s assessment of a provider application for TEQSA registration/renewal or course accreditation/renewal. TEQSA staff use input from external experts to inform their analysis and recommendations to the Commission. Individual external experts advise on specific, identified elements of TEQSA’s regulatory reviews.

As a member of the TEQSA Register of Experts, I provide advice in the areas of:

  • Academic quality assurance
  • Learning and teaching in higher education
  • Curriculum Development and design (including alignment with the Australian Qualifications Framework)
  • Research Training
  • Learning Technologies (including flexible delivery, online delivery, e-learning, distance education

I’m amazed, I have to admit. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The problem is an issue that too few men and women are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy I found this during my hunt for something concerning this.
